MOHALI: Punjabi singer Amanjot Singh Pannu, popularly known as Alfaaz, was injured in a freak road accident on Banur-Landran road in the early hours of Sunday.
A vehicle hit him while he was answering a call of nature at a roadside. Police said Alfaaz and his three friends, Kuljit Singh, Jeji and Gurpreet Singh, had gone for dinner at “Pal Dhaba”.
While the three were conversing with the dhaba owner over a matter of payment of a dhaba employee, Alfaaz went to answer a call of nature. Meanwhile, the employee decided to take dhaba owner’s Tata Ace vehicle.
As soon as he drove it away, he hit Alfaaz standing on the side. The employee fled, leaving the vehicle behind. Alfaaz is admitted to a private hospital, said police.
Police registered a case under Sections 279, 337, 338 of the IPC against Vicky at police station Sohana. The singer is out of danger, cops said.
