Punjabi financier shot dead in Philippines

JALANDHAR

: A Philippines-based Punjabi financier was shot dead in Manila on Monday morning when was leaving for work. Deceased Bhagwant Raj Bensal, 60, was living in Manila for since past 10 years. He was head of the

Khalsa Diwan Society

, which works for the Punjabi community there.

His family lives in the

Green Park

area of Jalandhar. His 18-year-old son Simran said that he was informed by his other relatives living there that some unidentified assailants shot Bensal when went out for work. He said that they were wondering how his dead body would be brought back to India.
