BATHINDA: Bollywood actor Aman Dhaliwal sustained injuries in an attack by some unknown person when he was entering a gym in Riverside City, California, US.
Dhaliwal (36) has played various roles in Bollywood and Punjabi films, including “Jodha Akbar” and "Big Brother". A permanent resident of the US since 2017, he belongs to Mansa in Punjab and visits Punjab occasionally.
His father, Mithu Singh Kahneke, who is an SGPC member from Mansa, said the actor was going to the gym on Wednesday morning and had just alighted from his car and entered the lobby when an unknown person, later identified as one Richard, attacked him.
“The accused stabbed him with a knife, but Aman overpowered him and some other people, too, gathered there and pushed the attacker to the ground. Aman sustained injuries on his hands, shoulder, chest, neck and head. Bt the injuries are not serious,” Mithu Singh said, adding that his son spent nearly 30 hours in hospital. The actor’ did not know the accused or the motive behind the attack, but it seemed the accused was a drug addict, Mithu added.
Dhaliwal his modelling career in 2003 and, in 2007, he had acted in his first Bollywood film "Big Brother", featuring Sunny Deol and Priyanka Chopra and then played a part in "Jodha Akbar" in 2008, featuring Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan, and Sonu Sood. Last year, he visited India for some shooting schedules.
