CHANDIGARH: Three senior most additional director generals of police (ADGP)-rank officers of Punjab Police were promoted to the rank of DGP on Wednesday. The Punjab Police have 10 DGP-rank officers, now.


The 1988-batch IPS officers who got promotion were Prabodh Kumar, Rohit Choudhary and Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota. Kumar is presently posted as director bureau of investigation, Choudhary as ADGP prisons and Sahota as ADGP Punjab Armed Police in Jalandhar.

The committee, headed by chief secretary Karan Avtar Singh, had recommended the names of the three ADGPs for promotion on completion of 30 years of service in the meeting held on June 12. They were approved by chief minister Amarinder Singh, who also heads the state home department.
