PATIALA: Punjab education minister Sikander Singh Maluka conferred degrees to 438 graduate and post-graduate students of Khalsa College, Patiala at its annual convocation here on Friday.
While addressing the students, he shared his views that students are the most precious treasure of any institution, who bring laurels to their institution with their awesome achievements.

"Since independence India has not been able to reach the goal regarding education which it should have done. Institutions of SGPC have done a commendable job in this field by providing value based education to the students. He also advised the students not to get entangled in the mire of drugs because the youth has a major role to play in the development of a nation," said minister.
Bibi Kiranjot Kaur, former general secretary, Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar, while delivering the convocation address said that it is the cherished dream of every student to procure degree which opens various opportunities for career development and attainment of jobs.
Dr Jamshid Ali Khan, dean College Development Council, Punjabi University, Patiala was the guest of honour who said that Khalsa College, Patiala has done a stupendous task by introducing job-oriented and time relevant professional and vocational courses for the students.
Dr Dharminder Singh Ubha, principal, Khalsa College read out the college annual report emphasizing the copious achievements made by diligent and dedicated staff members of the college and students in various spheres. He also articulated that some teachers of the college are also engaged in research work at national and international level. He said that students of the college have not only brought glory to the college with their astounding achievements in any single field, but also in academics, sports and cultural activities.
