He made the remarks ahead of a meeting of the BJP core committee held to review preparations for Union home minister Amit Shah's rally in Moga on March 14. Referring to Rahul Gandhi's recent speech at the Barnala rally, where he issued a stern warning regarding party unity, Jakhar said the Congress leader had "humiliated the party's Punjab leadership." He said if Rahul had to make remarks that could be conveyed internally at a rally, he seemed to have lost influence within the party. Targeting the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and opposition Congress, Jakhar said the two were in an "invisible alliance" and alleged that the Congress was functioning like AAP's "B-team."
