CHANDIGARH: Under-graduate students of colleges affiliated to Panjab University (PU) were in for a surprise on Thursday as the question paper for Punjabi subject was for a total of 90 marks instead of regular 45 marks.
With the switchover to the semester system - where exams will be conducted twice a year - the 90 marks are to be divided equally. However, PU was expecting some glitches due to the makeover.
However, university's controller of examinations
Parvinder Singh said that the scores will be standardized. "Since we are switching to the semester from the annual system for under-graduate classes, there already is a standing committee that said if any such problem with marks is there, it will be standardized by the end of the session," Singh added.
First-year under-graduate students of colleges appeared for their Punjabi (compulsory) (0002) and History & Culture of Punjab (Paper-I: History & Culture of Punjab from the earliest times to Premauryan Period) (0003) papers on Thursday.
