Provisions to be made for providing Rs 1,000 per month to Pb women: CM Bhagwant Mann
Khemkaran (Tarn Taran): Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday said the AAP govt would soon implement its promise of providing Rs 1,000 per month to every eligible woman of the state.Addressing a gathering here, Mann said: "Necessary provisions will be made in the upcoming budget, and every promise made to the people will be fulfilled." 04:05
During his address, Mann also targeted the main opposition parties — the Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). He described the Congress as "divided" and the SAD as a "bankrupt" house incapable of offering anything meaningful to the people of Punjab."The Congress is a divided house that will collapse due to its own infighting. Its leaders dream of returning to power, but they neither have vision nor unity. They forget that 60 seats are required to form a govt in Punjab, which is a distant dream for them. Their leaders cannot even manage basic arithmetic," said the CM.Training guns on the SAD leadership, Mann alleged that the party had nothing to offer except "a roadmap to loot and harass the common man"."Akali leaders have nothing to offer except a roadmap to loot and harass the common man. They repeatedly misused religion for their vested political interests, but the people of Punjab will not be misled again," he alleged.Earlier, the CM laid the foundation stone of a Rs 137-crore rural link road project in the border constituency of Khemkaran.Mann said the state govt was focusing on strengthening infrastructure, creating employment opportunities, and improving public services in border regions. He also highlighted progress in canal irrigation, employment generation, and education reforms."From roads and schools to playgrounds and industry, our govt is committed to ensuring comprehensive development in border areas," he said."Successive govts ignored the development of border regions, but the AAP govt made dedicated efforts for their progress. We are committed to the welfare of the residents of these areas, who are true patriots of the country," Mann added.
