bathinda:vinod kumar, a resident of bathinda town, has alleged that the district police changed his complaint, made against some land grabbers, to shield those who have political connections. in a telegram to the inspector general of police, patiala range, and the bathinda senior superintendent of police, kumar alleged that the officers at the city police station changed his statement under political pressure while registering an fir.the names of some of the accused who were kingpin of the land grabbers' gang were dropped, he alleged.
kumar had lodged a complaint with the police after some persons tried to grab his land. while an fir lodged with the city police alleged that about 20 people trespassed into the land of kumar and damaged boundary wall and surrounding fencing, the police intentionally dropped the names of some of the accused mentioned in the complaint, alleged kumar. when contacted, district police chief jatinder kumar jain said that he would inquire into the matter and no guilty would be spared.
