PM Narendra Modi to visit Haryana on Oct 9

CHANDIGARH: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is visiting Sampla township in Rohtak district on October 9 to unveil the statue of peasant leader Sir Chhotu Ram, would also lay foundation stone of rail coach factory in Barhi village of Sonipat district. The state government has transferred 160 acres to the railway ministry for the purpose.



Disclosing this, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said as the statue of Sir Chhotu Ram had been completed, the PM was requested to unveil it for which he has given his consent to visit the state on October 9.

On being asked to comment on the proposed visit of Modi to Haryana on November 1, the foundation day of the state, the CM said in case of non-availability of PM due to his busy schedule BJP national president Amit Shah would attend the function, for which he has already given his confirmation.

On the issue of the demand being raised by the Sikh community that the CM should visit the gurdwara in district Karnal, Khattar said that though he had deep respect for the gurughars, he would not visit any gurdwara that had the photo of Khalistan ideologue Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

He said during his visit to Karnal, he was invited to the gurdwara but he had to skip his visit after he was informed about the photo of Bhinderanwale in the gurdwara. He added that the said issue would soon be sorted out after holding discussion with the representatives of the Sikh community.

The CM said a committee had also been constituted for celebrating 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. Services of two trains was also provided for taking the pilgrims to Patna in Bihar 350th birth anniversary of 10th Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh.
