Pinjore-Baddi-Nalagarh 4-lane work to be over by Aug: Min

Chandigarh: The four-laning of the 36-km-long Pinjore-Baddi-Nalagarh national highway is expected to be completed by August 2025. As of now, only 38.10% of the project has been completed.All this came to light in a written reply by Union minister for roads and national highways Nitin Gadkari in the Rajya Sabha. Gadkari was responding to a question by Kartikeya Sharma, the Rajya Sabha MP from Haryana.The work on the said national highway is already running behind schedule. Sharma also urged Gadkari to ensure early completion of the project.In his query, Sharma had sought details about the expenses incurred by the NHAI on the project so far and the quantum of work completed till now. He also sought details as to whether there was any administrative reason for the delay.“The scheduled revised completion date of the project is August 22, 2025, and an expenditure of Rs 774.78 crore has been incurred to date. The project was initially delayed due to delays in pre-construction activities such as the disbursement of land acquisition compensation and permission for soil extraction from the borrow areas. The reasons for the delay are not attributable to the contractor and therefore, no action is liable against the contractor,” Gadkari mentioned in the reply.Sharma had raised the concern as the highway is one of the key roads connecting Haryana with Himachal. It is frequented for industrial activities due to the industrial areas of Baddi and Nalagarh. Around 20,000 vehicles use this highway every day.Work on this 36-km road, which includes a 17.37-km stretch in Himachal Pradesh and the remaining in Haryana, started 32 months ago and was to be completed in Sept this year. The project includes 104 culverts, 16 minor bridges, and five major bridges. Key structures, including a flyover and bridges, are still under construction and are expected to take another 9-10 months for completion.According to information, the NHAI, the executing authority, even served a show-cause notice to the concessionaire for the delay in completion of the work.

Coastal highway project cost yet to be determined: Gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that the cost of Odisha's proposed 408-km coastal highway is undetermined until the detailed project report (DPR) is finalized. The DPR, currently underway, includes alignment considerations, with representations for the Kakatpur-Erasama stretch under review. Construction will begin after DPR completion, clearances, and pre-construction activities.

Parallel road to airport likely to be completed by Oct 2025

A new 164-foot-wide road parallel to the existing airport road in Mohali is under construction and expected to be completed by October 2025. This thoroughfare, connecting Bawa White House near Phase 11 to the Zirakpur-Patiala NH-64, will originate from the Balongi, Kharar highway.

Will complete Palamuru project by 2026: Uttam Kumar Reddy

Telangana's Irrigation Minister, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, affirmed the government's commitment to finishing the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) by December 2026. With Rs 32,305 crore already invested, an additional Rs 33,201 crore will be needed. The project, divided into 18 packages, aims to irrigate 12.
