CHANDIGARH: Three employees of a parking contractor were arrested for thrashing the driver of an IAS officer over parking fee in Sector 17 on Thursday. Anand Mohan, labour commissioner, Haryana, had come out of his car bearing a red beacon when his driver Naresh Kumar was thrashed.
Police said that government vehicles were exempted from paying the parking fee, but the parking staff kept demanded parking fee from the driver, who refused to pay.

SHO of PS 17, inspector Dilsher Singh Chandel said that the accused pulled the driver out of the car and thrashed him in full public view even as the IAS officer and people around intervened. Police were soon called in and a case was registered at Sector 17 police station against Ranbir Singh Rana, Parminder Singh and Rohit Kumar.
