CHANDIGARH: A team of the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR), headed by Harjinder Kaur, chairperson, CCPCR has launched an awareness drive in tricity schools to address child abuse issues and provide a protective environment in schools.

Accompanied by final year law interns from Panjab University, Chandigarh, the team visited various government high schools and government senior secondary schools to engender awareness about POCSO Act, monitor legal literacy clubs and child friendly committees in schools.

Fourteen groups of interns are visiting different schools every day. They will cover all the 96 government model senior secondary schools (GMSSS) and government model high schools (GMHS) of UT, Chandigarh. The commission has also released the PANTS Rules brochure .
