PANCHKULA: Election cell of police has prepared a list of sensitive and hypersensitive areas.
In Panchkula constituency, there are 24 hypersensitive areas, which include 52 booths, and six sensitive areas that include 12 booths.
In Kalka constituency, there are 14 hypersensitive areas that include 27 booths and 12 sensitive areas, which include 14 booths.
"The list has been prepared to check violence during elections. The grounds on which areas have been marked sensitive and hypersensitive include previous election violence, marginalized sections and weaker sections," deputy commissioner of police Rahul Sharma said.
Cops are also keeping an eye on areas where candidates reside so that various party leaders do not use muscle power to get votes.
"The areas where candidates live are also under lens. They have good hold on their areas and the possibility of use of muscle and money power cannot be ruled out," he added.
"More security forces will be deployed in booths in areas like Bhid Ghaggar, Budanpur, Ramgarh, Nada, Billa, Devi Nagar, Majri, Maheshpur, among others, as there is a rift within a few communities," a senior cop said.
