Only one issue cleared in MC meet

CHANDIGARH: The 140th house meeting of the municipal corporation concluded within 15 minutes on Monday, as only one-point agenda could be passed in the meeting due to the electoral code of conduct. Councillors of all political parties and officers of the corporation mourned the death of sitting councillor from Akali Dal Gurnam Singh and senior minister of Punjab Capt Kanwaljit Singh.
The passed agenda related to grant of extension to Aman Security. The house agreed on detailed meeting on the issue of proper functioning of the garbage processing plant situated in Sector-25.
Harjinder Kaur, Akali Dal councillor, said the sudden death of Gurnam Singh shocked everybody. The house also observed two minutes silence on the death of cooperative minister of Punjab Captain Kanwaljit Singh.
