The warden of Panjab University's hostel no 9 (Amrita Pritam Hall), Shipra Gupta, took an initiative to organise an online dance competition for varsity's girl students. ‘Tap Your Toes’ event saw girls putting their best foot forward.
While the result too was declared online, the event was attended by a large number of students, besides participants being wardens of the girls’ hostels and other faculty members.
The judges of the competition were Jatinder Arora Nayyar, a trained Kathak dancer, and Tarun Rawat, a passionate award-winning dancer. While it took judges some time to pick the best among the participants, the students presented a confluence of dance forms such as classical, hip-hop, belly dance, Bollywood, folk etc. Various department students took part in the competition. Mridula Mahajan from the department of laws was awarded first position, whereas Shreya Shree from Geology department was awarded the second position. And Kritika Lakhotia from Physics department and Kiranpreet Kaur from Evening Studies department grabbed third spot and fourth spots, respectively.
