One arrested in Jhajjar financier murder case

Jhajjar: In a major breakthrough in the sensational murder of financier Sahil alias Sonu in Dighal village, Jhajjar police have arrested one accused and intensified efforts to nab other suspects involved in the crime. Investigators say the killing was driven by a personal feud that escalated after a video of an altercation went viral on social media.Police sources said Sahil had a dispute a few days earlier with a local youth, Yogesh alias Jogi. A video of the altercation allegedly went viral, humiliating the accused and triggering a revenge plot that culminated in the murder.The arrested accused has been identified as Shivam, a resident of Sarai Kale Khan in New Delhi. He was arrested from Noida's Sector 37 following coordinated raids by multiple police teams. During preliminary interrogation, Shivam's links with co-accused Yogesh alias Jogi and Sandeep alias Leela—both residents of Dighal village—have surfaced.Investigators revealed that the assailants used a black SUV, hired from Sundana village for Rs 5,000, to execute the crime and flee the scene.According to police, the incident occurred on April 8, when Sahil was sitting with friends and playing cards in Dighal village. The accused arrived in the SUV and opened indiscriminate fire, pumping around 20 rounds into Sahil, killing him on the spot.Following the incident, five special teams — including CIA units and personnel from local police stations — were constituted to track down the culprits.CCTV footage from nearby areas proved crucial in identifying the accused, capturing visuals of the attackers arriving in the SUV and making a quick escape after the shooting. The vehicle used in the crime has since been recovered from the Machhrauli area, providing vital leads to investigators.Police further disclosed that Shivam is a college dropout who left his graduation course in the second year and briefly worked with a private firm before quitting. He has been produced before a court and remanded to police custody for further interrogation.DCP Jhajjar Dharna Yadav said raids are underway to arrest the remaining accused.
