MOGA: During checking of government vehicles by vigilance bureau, at least three officials were found using officials for private use.
The checking was made on Kotkapura bypass here by a vigilance team led by deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Surjit Singh Khosa following a complaint alleging rampant misuse of official vehicles by officers of various departments.

VB sources revealed that 12 government vehicles were checked out of which three were found being used for private visits. The erring officials include Zila Parishad chairperson Mohinder Kaur, Punjab State Electricity Board XEN Sudagar Singh and manager of Jagraon branch of co-operative branch Basant Singh.
VB sources said that ZP chairperson was going to pay obeisance at a religious dera in Saner village near here in her official car. The vehicle was allegedly driven by a private driver and the log book was not in the vehicle which is mandatory under rules.
The XEN Sudagar Singh was travelling in his official jeep along with his family. They were on their way to see relatives. Similarly co-operative bank manager was also going in his official car for private business.
The log book of a canter belonging to Punjab Chemicals Ltd was found incomplete. This canter was going to Muktsar. The VB officials declined to reveal the action to be taken against the erring officials.
