Notorious criminal held

CHANDIGARH: A 28-year old absconding notorious criminal, Sandeep Singh, alias Sunny aka Khurmi, who was wanted in several states, has been arrested along with a sophisticated weapon, which was used in the assassination of three people including a sub inspector (SI) of Chandigarh police on Monday night. Khurmi, a resident of Sector 52, had escaped from the custody of Haryana police in Ambala on October 11. Khurmi was wanted and arrested in about 14 different cases of attempt to murder, robberies, drug peddling and extortion. He was arrested near Dhanas and an illegal pistol was recovered from him.
