The court pulled up the police after observing that Nishan’s confession statement in the car theft case had already been included in the custody papers but the police never took him into custody, said his (Nishan) counsel Raghav Sharma.

Sharma also apprised the court that earlier also the police had attempted to get Nishan’s custody and produced him in a separate court, but their plea was rejected.
Taking a serious note of the police action, the court pulled up the probe officer and directed him to personally drop Nishan at Faridkot jail. Earlier, the State Special Operation Cell had brought Nishan on a production warrant from Ferozepur jail.
