MOHALI: As a number of Mohali police officials are infected with Covid-19, the police department has ordered to stop public dealing at all police stations for a week.

The district has 19 police stations, nine chowkis and one CIA branch.

Gursewak Singh Brar

, superintendent of police, headquarter told with TOI, “Only urgent matters will be heard at police stations. This step is taken after two

station house officers

tested positive.”

At the office of the SSP in Sector 76, public dealing too has been minimised as officials claim that many people used to roam around there without any reason. Now, only those who have taken an appointment can visit a senior cop. A registration desk is set up at the entrance in which all the details of the visitor will be noted. In the most recent case, Kharar city SHO was tested positive for Covid-19. Also,

Gharuan SHO

along with his other staff was detected with Covid-19.
