CHANDIGARH: The district programme officer of the women and child development department, Gurgaon, has warned Punjabi singer Karan Aujla against singing songs about alcohol, drugs and glorifying violence in his live shows to be held on Dec 15, 17 and 19 at Airia Mall in Sector 68, Gurgaon.
“We issue notice to you for not using children on stage during three live shows in Gurugram. According to WHO, adults should not be exposed to sound with a peak sound pressure level above 140db. For children, the level is reduced to 120 db. Therefore, children should not be used on stage during your live show where peak sound pressure level is above 120db, which is harmful for children,” said a notice issued to Aujla.
The singer was also directed to ensure youngsters below the age of 21 were not served alcohol in his shows.
The notice was issued following a complaint by Pandit Rao Dharenavar, assistant professor in Post Graduate Government College Sector 46, Chandigarh.
He had earlier filed similar complaints following which both Telangana and Chandigarh authorities had issued notices to Aujla and singer Diljit Dosanjh.
On Thursday, the Chandigarh municipal corporation (MC) slapped a penalty of Rs 1.16 crore on the organiser of the singer’s December 7 concert for allegedly illegally displaying advertisements at the venue in the city.
