CHANDIGARH: New secretary (examination) of Punjab Public Service Commission PS Gill has also been shifted by Punjab government to his previous posting of SDM Sunam in place of Balraj Singh Sekhon.
Gill was only transferred to the PPSC early this week but this had raked up yet another controversy, as he happened to be nephew of Justice Amarbir Singh Gill whose daughter Amol Gill was selected to PCS during the tenure of tainted PPSC chairman Ravinder Pal Singh Sidhu.
1x1 polls

Gill was the fifth appointed to the post of secretary (examination) after its secretary Prithpal Singh was booked and arrested in ‘‘jobs-for-cash’’ scam last year.
Three of the appointees failed to join while the fourth one, Ashwani Kumar, too had to be shifted following another controversy. Ashwani had to go as his brother used to run a coaching academy training aspirants for IAS and PCS examinations. Since secretary examination had to deal with secret and sensitive information pertaining to examination and his own brother was running a coaching centre, he was eased out early this week to make room for Gill.
Once again, the sensitive post is vacant and government would issue a separate order subsequently. Meanwhile, Sekhon has been shifted from Sunam in the same capacity to Nihalsinghwala against a vacant post.
