<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">YAMUNANAGAR: Forty fifth Annual Sports meet of D A V College for Girls, Yamuna Nagar was held on Sunday. Kailasho Saini, member of the dissolved Lok Sabha from Kurukshetra, while addressing the students, urged the public in general to change their outlook towards sports if gold medals are to be won and sportsmen and sportswomen are to remain devoted to the ground.

<br /><br />She announced donation of Rs 1 lakh for the college to promote sports facilities to college students and assured full cooperation in future too.<br /><br />Dr Baljit Singh, director, Sports Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, informed that new sports policy framed by Government has been accepted by Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra in total Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra is the only University that provides Rs 6,0000 annually, full sports kit, Rs 120 as DA refreshment allowance to students undergoing training for national level tournaments. <br /><br />500 students from all classes in various facilities of the college participated in 100m., 200m., 400m., 800m., 1500m., 3000m. races, 3 Km. Cycle race, 100m Hurdle race, 4x400m relay race, three-legged race, skipping race, brick race, <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">chatti </span>race, sack race, long jump, triple jump, shotput, discuss throw, javeline throw and tug of war with great enthusiasm.<br /><br />Anuradh was declared the Best Athlete of the session 2003-2004.<br /><br /><formid=367815></formid=367815></div> </div>
