The cyber cell of UT police arrested a person for allegedly duping a woman of Rs 3 lakh on the pretext of providing a job in Singapore to her son. The accused is Umesh Popat Pardesi of Nashik, Maharashtra.

Chandigarh: The cyber cell of UT police arrested a person for allegedly duping a woman of Rs 3 lakh on the pretext of providing a job in Singapore to her son. The accused is Umesh Popat Pardesi of Nashik, Maharashtra. City resident Yogesh Chaudhary alleged she contacted her relative in Nashik regarding a job for her son abroad. Her relative provided mobile number of Pardesi, who used to provide jobs to boys in merchant navy.

He allegedly promised Yogesh to secure a job of a technical assistant in a Singapore-based company for her son. The accused asked her to deposit Rs 3 lakh in his savings bank account. He, however, neither provided any job nor refunded her money. TNN
