KUNDLI BORDER (SONIPAT): Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani alleged here on Wednesday that Muslims in India were being "misused as a vote bank" and those who do it did not care for their welfare.
Advani who was addressing a public rally in HUDA grounds after his "Bharat Udhey Rath Yatra" entered Haryana at the Kundli Barrier accused political parties of creating vote banks in name of caste, creed and sex.
He felt that politicians had become a laughing stock in people''s eyes with such actions. The Bharat Udhey Rath Yatra got a lukewarm welcome on its entry to Haryana as hardly about 200 odd BJP workers were present at Haryana border to receive it.
Advani held that even Muslims in country had realized it that during 48 years of Congress regime nothing tangible was done for their welfare. While on one hand Advani tired to woo the Muslims with his soothing words, he declared in the same breath that Ram Temple would be built in Ayodhya within months if the BJP was again saddled into power after Lok Sabha poll.
Advani also promised that Ram Rajya would be ushered in India by a Vajpayee led government. He maintained that BJP would present an ideal example of Governance in the country and within five years India would become number one power in the World. Advani had repeated digs at Congress and called upon it to do introspection why it had fallen down in eyes of people.
He accused Congress of bringing political instability in country by bringing down governments led by Charan Singh, Chandar Shekar, Deve Gowda and IK Gujral. Advani claimed that after 1998 BJP had provided political stability in India. Problems of poverty, drinking water, health facilities and education which remained untackled during 48 years long rule of Congress were being tackled now. Advani said that inter-linking of Indian rivers scheme would be executed in next five years if BJP came to power.
In an indirect attack on Chautala regime in Haryana, Advani asked him not to resort to political victimization of his opponents and end misuse of police force for and meeting political ends. He maintained that Haryana people would not excuse such acts. Advani did not touch the foreign origin issue of Sonia Gandhi but stated that persons like Mahatma Gandhi, Veer Saravarkar, Bhagat Singh and Sardar Patel had fought for years to drive out the "Foreigners from Indian Soil".
On other hand his Cabinet Minister Sahib Singh Verma; Union Labour Minister did not mince words by saying that "People of India would not tolerate Sonia Gandhi as Prime Minister" from the same stage. At another rally in Karnal while keeping same thrust of his speech Advani said that BJP was going before people with full satisfaction as it had fulfilled its promise made to people during last election.
