Leading the protest, deputy leader of the Opposition Bibi Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, along with others, reiterated their demand for registration of a criminal case against Dharamsot and his dismissal from the state cabinet.

They also raised slogans against Congress leadership in the state and burnt effigies of chief minister Amarinder Singh with Sadhu Singh Dharmasot.

After this, a demand letter was handed over to the district administration addressed to the governor of Punjab.

AAP leaders said Dharmasot had ruined the future of millions of Dalits students in Punjab and considering the seriousness of the matter, immediate action should be initiated against him.

Punjab chief Minister captain Amarinder Singh has formed a three-member panel under the chief secretary, which has been asked to probe the matter and give an early report into the scam.

The leaders said that in case there had been an Aam Aadmi Party government in the state, a case would had been registered within five minutes, but "now efforts are being made to give Dhamramsot a clean chit".


The AAP leaders said that even after 10 days of the scam, the Congress high command and chief minister Amarinder Singh were in a hurry to save their corrupt but 'earning son'.

The leaders also demanded that the probe should be conducted by any agency, but under the supervision of a sitting judge of the high court.
