Mother-son duo killed in Tarn Taran road accident

Tarn Taran: A woman and her 5-year-old son were killed when the car they were traveling in collided with a tractor-trolley loaded with soil on the Amritsar-Khemkaran road near Bhikhiwind Saturday night.The victims, identified as Prabhjit Kaur and her son Fateh Singh, died on the spot. Davinder Singh (30), the driver of the car, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a private hospital, where he is reported to be out of danger.Davinder is a resident of Asal Uttar and drives a taxi in Chandigarh. He was travelling with his family to attend a wedding at his in-laws' village, Fatehpur. Around 8 pm their vehicle crashed into the tractor-trolley moving ahead on the road, said the police. The collision was so severe that the car was left completely mangled, and the tractor-trolley also suffered extensive damage.A family member of the victims and village sarpanch, Sukhwinder Singh Babbu, confirmed the deaths.
