BATHINDA: Moga residents on Sunday observed the 28th death anniversary of 25 persons who were killed by terrorists in the morning of June 25, 1989.
Terrorists had gunned down 21 RSS activists while they were attending one of their daily meetings at Jawahar Lal Nehru park, now renamed as Shahidi Park. A couple and two policemen were also killed in the bomb blast after the shooting.

31 persons were injured in shooting and bomb blast that day.
A memorial was built in the memory of those killed. A memorial committee was also formed to provide assistance to families of the victims and maintain the memorial.
Moga Congress MLA Hajot Kamal accompanied the town residents and members of RSS who assembled to pay tributes to them.
Memorial committee president Rajesh Puri said, “June 25 was the darkest day in the history of Moga when terrorists had killed 25 persons by spraying bullets and bomb blast. The committee observes the death anniversary every year where the family members of the victims assemble and pay tributes.”
