Modern education vital, but cultural values shape responsible citizens: HP governor
Shimla: Governor Kavinder Gupta on Monday emphasised that Indian culture forms the foundation of the nation and highlighted the need to connect younger generations with the country's rich heritage, traditions, and moral values.Addressing the Bharatiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha prize distribution ceremony organised by the All World Gayatri Pariwar in Shimla, the governor said India's ancient scriptures and knowledge traditions continue to offer valuable guidance in building a responsible and value-based society. He stressed that while modern education is essential, cultural education is equally important for nurturing responsible citizens and dedicated nation-builders.Gupta also acknowledged the role of teachers and parents in shaping the character and values of children. Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the governor said the goal could be achieved through a youth population equipped with knowledge, skills, values and a strong sense of national commitment.
