Haryana has appointed film actor
Mita Vashisht as chairperson of the governing council that will oversee the implementation of the state’s film and entertainment policy. The position was vacant since the death of director, producer, and actor Satish Kaushik, who was the council’s first head.
A state government spokesperson said on Tuesday: “Mita brings a wealth of experience to this prestigious role, having acted in 43 films, many television serials, web series and theatre productions.
She was also a visiting member of the faculty at the National School of Drama ) and National Institute of Fashion Technology, besides serving as head of acting department at the Film and Television Institute of India. The information, public relations, language and culture department administrative secretary will be this council’s co-chairman, while director general will be the member secretary. The members will include administrative secretaries for tourism, and art and culture, besides the vice-chancellor of Rohtak’s State University of Performing and Visual Arts (or a representative), CM’s media adviser, and seven non-official nominees of the state government. The council will sanction projects, release funds for films, and advise the executive committee on implementing the policy. tnn
