CHANDIGARH: The minimum temperature fell by two more degrees in Chandigarh on Sunday, intensifying the cold wave. According to the meteorological department, the minimum temperature dropped to 4.9°C on Sunday, which is five degrees below normal temperature. The minimum temp was 6.6°C on Saturday, three degrees below normal. However, the maximum temperature remained the same as Saturday at 22.7°C, one degree above normal.
A few days back, night temperatures had fallen sharply in the Tricity, turning it even colder than Shimla. Later, it started to increase. However, after a gap of few days, it has again touched 4°C. It is expected to remain the same for the next few days.

While the city's maximum reached 27.3C, Naliya in Kutch recorded a frigid 7.8C, making it the state's coldest spot. Rajkot, bracing for a continued cold wave, registered 9.1C.

Ahmedabad experienced near-normal temperatures on Sunday, with a minimum of 13.5C and a maximum of 28.3C, influenced by shifting easterly to southeasterly winds. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a minimum temperature of 14C for Monday, with minimal temperature fluctuations expected over the next five days in the region.
