Jind: BJP’s Jind MLA Krishan Middha walked out of the district grievances committee meeting here on Monday after his seat was occupied by an official. The meeting was being presided over by minister of state Anup Dhanak of Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) who too had to face local BJP member’s ire on the issue.
The MLA was already at the meeting while Dhanak reached the venue later.
When Middha stood up from his seat to welcome the minister, a police officer sat in his seat. While initially, Middha pulled another chair from behind and sat, after a few moments he stood up and walked out from the meeting.
Local BJP functionary Ramphal Sharma stood up from his seat, along with other party members, and asked the minister why the MLA was insulted. “We can’t attend the meeting any longer as our MLA didn’t get his place to sit, which is an insult to everyone. Therefore we are going from the meeting as a mark of protest,” he announced.
BJP members and Dhanak then had an arguments over the issue. Later, the minister assured them to bring Middha back and stopped the meeting. Dhanak went out to call the MLA back to the meeting and managed to bring him back after half an hour. It was only then the meeting, in which complaints of local residents, were being heard started.
Sources claimed that Anup followed MLA Middha till Pindara village and appealed to him to attend the meeting. From there, they returned together and held the meeting.
After the meeting, the minister addressed the mediapersons but Middha refrained from speaking on the issue. Dhanak only said, “We have no differences with the BJP MLA. He had some work so he left the meeting, but came back along with me.”
