Met forecasts scattered rainfall

CHANDIGARH: Don't want to get caught in unexpected rainfall? Then keep your umbrellas handy. The Chandigarh meteorological department has forecast isolated thundershowers in the next three days. The temperatures are also expected to drop on Tuesday and Wednesday.
"The city will keep receiving showers in the next three days but these will be occasional.People should carry umbrellas as they might get stuck in the rain in one or the other sector. The temperatures are also expected to drop by a few notches," said Chandigarh meteorological department director Surender Paul.
The temperatures dropped on Monday as well after the light rainfall on Sunday evening. The maximum temperature dropped from 35.8 degrees celsius on Sunday to 33.9 degrees celsius on Monday. The minimum temperature fell from 28.1 degrees celsius on Sunday to 24.7 degrees celsius on Monday. However, the temperatures continued to be above normal by 2 degree and 1 degree. The humidity levels here were recoded at 86%.
On Monday, the city observatory recorded 2.7mm rainfall, whereas the Chandigarh air force observatory recorded only traces of rainfall.
The humidity levels here were recorded at 100%, indicating rainfall during the night hours.
For Tuesday, the weathermen have forecast generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thundershower. The maximum temperature would be around 34 degrees celsius whereas the minimum would be around 27 degrees celsius.
