General manager of the firm, P S Hameed and his son, director Mohammed Shahid Hameed have applied for anticipatory bail through counsels Abhinav Sood, Nitesh Jhanjaria and Anmol Gupta.
In the bail application, they maintained that the deceased were trained labour who went down to clean salt in the tank. Derabassi SHO, inspector Jaskanwal Singh said the three accused had been evading arrest since the accident.
“Teams have been dispatched to Uttar Pradesh to nab them,” he said.
They claimed in the bail application that all precautionary measures had been taken and the workers were provided with safety equipment, including oxygen mask, gumboots, gloves and harness, which were required at the time of cleaning the tank. It was stated that salt water stored in the tank and hide room was cleaned after a week and the deaths were purely accidental. The counsel claimed that Shahid and his father had been implicated in the case merely because of their capacity in their company.
