MC organises cleanliness drive in all wards

Times News NetworkPanchkula: The municipal corporation conducted a cleanliness drive in all the 20 wards of the city in the presence of all councillors under the “Haryana Uday” programme. An NGO also organised a street play. MC officials said that mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, who was the chief guest in the Sector 6, launched the drive.At the Sector 6 market, Mishan Foundation organised a street play to spread the message of cleanliness. The nukkad natak was held under the guidance of Dr Prabhjot Guron Bajju (director founder, Mishaan Foundation, state president, Social Service Council, Chandigarh) and Dr Mohit Kaushal (spokesperson of the NGO).Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal asked residents to be mindful of their responsibility not just towards cleanliness in their own houses but also in surrounding areas. He asked residents to segregate wet and dry garbage and hand over waste only to the corporation vehicle instead of street vendors who could dump it anywhere. Participants pledged to keep their houses and cities clean during the drive. Councillor Suresh Verma, deputy MC commissioner Apoorva Chowdhary, chief sanitary inspector Avinash Singla, Dr Praveen Chowdhary from NGO Jan Shikshan Sansthan and members of Mishan Foundation were present.
