MC launches sanitation drive from Sec-20 cremation ground to Kundi
Panchkula: The municipal corporation Thursday launched a special sanitation drive from the Sector-20 cremation ground to Kundi village, targeting long-standing issues of waste, debris and illegal dumping in the area.
MC commissioner Vinay Kumar said the stretch, located near the interstate border, had been facing persistent dumping of waste, including from neighbouring Punjab, prompting the need for a coordinated clean-up. Multiple agencies, including MC and HSVP, are now working together to find a permanent solution, he said.
Kumar added that civic teams regularly monitor waste collection, street and drain cleaning, but public participation remains below desired levels. He urged residents to report instances of illegal dumping and cooperate with authorities to prevent recurrence.
