Chandigarh : The bust of Naik Darshan Singh was unveiled in Mohali on Monday by Lt Gen K J Singh, army commander of Western Command, at Mohali.
Naik Darshan Singh of 5 Sikh LI had laid down his life for the country during the 1965 Indo-Pak War in Mehndar sector of Jammu and Kashmi. A residential society has been named after him in Mohali. On the occasion, Lt Gen K J Singh paid tributes to the martyr.

Addressing a gathering of serving and veteran soldiers, Lt Gen K J Singh said the Army was quite allive to the welfare of survivors of the martyrs.
He announced that efforts were underway to provide all services to the veterans at Kendriya Sainik Sadan, Mohali, where services pertaining to the District Sainik Welfare Board, CSD canteen and ECHS will be available under the same roof. He also inaugurated a gym. Basant Singh expressed gratefulness to the army for honoring his father.
