Man with disabilities shot dead in Jhajjar; police probe revenge angle
Jhajjar: A 52-year-old man with disabilities was shot dead inside his house in Dighal village of Jhajjar district on Tuesday night, with police probing whether the killing was linked to the murder of a financier in the same village two months ago.Jitender was attacked by masked assailants, who allegedly fired multiple rounds before fleeing. CCTV footage shows two men approaching the house shortly before midnight, one of them wearing a joker-style mask.According to family members, one of the assailants test-fired his weapon in a nearby lane before entering the house and opening fire on Jitender. He died on the spot.Police later collected evidence and sent the body for the postmortem. .Investigators are examining whether the murder was a retaliatory attack linked to the April 8 killing of financier Sahil alias Sonu. Jitender was the uncle of Yogesh alias Yogi, the alleged mastermind in the financier's murder case who is in jail.Jitender's brother, Sombir, alleged the family had been receiving threats after Sahil's murder. He claimed one of the accused in that case, Aman alias Bunty, had warned that Sahil's death would be avenged.Police said revenge is one of the key angles being investigated, though other motives have not been ruled out.The April murder of Sahil had exposed a bitter rivalry in the village.
