Man threatens in-laws with 'pistol'

PANCHKULA: High drama was witnessed in Maheshpur area of Sector-21 here on Monday morning when a man entered his in-laws' residence with a pistol in his hand and started threatening them. They managed to get hold of him and handed him over to cops. Interestingly, the pistol that the accused was carrying, turned out to be a toy.
According to information, Mansa Devi resident Ravi Sharma had been residing at her in-laws' house along with his wife.Last month, he left the house and did not return since. Suddenly, on Monday morning, he came to his in-laws' house with a pistol in his hand.
Cops added he threatened his wife and in-laws that he was there to collect his belongings and he would shoot anybody who tried to stop him. Suspecting a threat to their lives from Ravi Sharma, his in-laws informed cops about it. Police swung into action, reached there and arrested him. Before being arrested, he tried to run away from there, but was caught by neighbours, who joined the family members in giving him a beating.
Later, both parties entered into a compromise at the Panchkula Sector-21 police post.
