MOHALI: A 15-year-old boy has been allegedly kidnapped by an unidentified person on Monday evening from Sohana. The family of the boy has, however, not received any ransom call. Vivek has passed Class IX and was applying in several schools to get admission in Class X.
Investigation officer of the case, SI Harpreet Singh, said: "The boy has not been traced yet, and we have already put the mobile phones of the entire family, relatives and friends on surveillance. We are trying to get as many CCTV footages of the area as possible to trace the whereabouts of the boy, though no ransom call has been made to the family of the kidnapped boy."
Police sources said the boy's father had gone to Delhi following a tip-off to find his son. Meanwhile, on the statement of Sanjeev Kumar, a case under Section 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine a person) of the IPC has been registered against an unknown person.
