Yamunanagar: In a shocking incident, the Chhachhrauli police in Haryana's Yamunanagar district have arrested a man accused of repeatedly raping a 10-year-old girl, who was later found to be pregnant. The accused has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant sections of the law.
According to a police spokesperson, the arrest was made under the guidance of Yamunanagar SP Kamaldeep Goyal. The accused was produced before a court and sent to judicial custody, while further investigation is under way.
Sharing details, Chhachhrauli SHO Vedpal said the victim's mother had lodged a complaint with the police stating that her elder daughter, aged 10 years, fell ill at school on Friday. After receiving information from the school authorities, she took the child to a govt hospital, where doctors informed her that the girl was pregnant.
The revelation left the family shocked. When questioned by her mother, the child alleged that the accused sexually assaulted her for the first time in Nov 2025 after luring her.
The girl further alleged that the accused threatened to kill her if she disclosed the matter to anyone and warned that her mother would lose her job if the incident was reported. Due to fear, she remained silent, while the accused allegedly continued to sexually assault her repeatedly.
Following the complaint, police registered a case against him under the
POCSO Act and other sections. A special team was formed to apprehend the accused. Acting swiftly, the police arrested the accused from his village.
