Man gets 20 yrs’ RI for raping 13-year-old girl

Chandigarh: The fast track special court awarded 20 years rigorous imprisonment for raping a 13-year-old girl on Saturday. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on the convict and in default of paying fine to undergo rigorous imprisonment one year, court said in order.
The police had arrested Nishan Singh for raping a 13-year-old girl under the sections of IPC and POCSO Act in 2021. Nishan pleaded that he is innocent and has not committed any offence.
But the court found him guilty of the heinous crime of spoiling the life of a 13-year-old. tnn
