CHANDIGARH: Two months after he eloped with a woman, a Panipat man came back to target his three friends and his paramour’s brother. He has already attacked two of them and police are searching him before he hurts the others.
Police said Rocky, a resident of Rajiv colony near Sai Baba Chowk, had eloped with his paramour two months ago. Rocky and the woman’s brother used to go in the same gym, owned by one Mahender Kumar.

They had two more friends — Rajan Taneja and Gopal.
Police said 30-year-old Rocky is married and has a son. He had an extramarital affair with the woman whom he allegedly kidnapped on May 15.
On July 4, Rocky allegedly set Mahender’s gym on fire. Police said he was upset as he believed Mahender, Taneja and Gopal had helped his paramour’s brother Vikas in pursuing the case against him.
Police said soon after setting the gym on fire, Rocky changed his WhatsApp status. On Wednesday evening, he allegedly shot at Taneja when he was returning to the gym with some material. As Taneja reached near Sai Baba Chowk, Rocky appeared with two persons and opened fire at him.
Taneja fell unconscious as bullet hit just below his neck. He was rushed to the hospital where he was undergoing the treatment.
Soon after attacking Taneja, Rocky again changed his Whtsapp status to say that it was now the turn of the remaining two — Vikas and Gopal.

Gopal told police that soon after attacking Taneja, Rocky issued warning for him and the woman’s brother. He said that the accused had called him to threaten.
SP Panipat Manbir Singh said that Rocky had been booked in cases registered against him at Quilla police station and Chandni Bagh police station.
Cases related to kidnapping of the woman been registered at Quilla police station while cases of setting gym at fire and attack on Taneja have been registered at Chandni Bagh police station. “Our teams are on the job and we are hopeful of arresting him soon,” the SP said.
