Man duped of Rs 4L by four persons

A resident of Phase-I Industrial Area, Amarjit Singh, on Saturday lodged an FIR against four persons including a woman for allegedly duping him of money to the tune of Rs 4 lakh on pretext of a property deal.

CHANDIGARH: A resident of Phase-I Industrial Area, Amarjit Singh, on Saturday lodged an FIR against four persons including a woman for allegedly duping him of money to the tune of Rs 4 lakh on pretext of a property deal.
The accused have been identified as Narinder Jain, Saurav Jain, RD Mittal and his wife Kamlesh Mittal of Sector 45. Police sources said the accused had cheated the complainant by producing a fake agreement and showing general power of attorney (GPA) of a plot in which he was shown as holder of one-fourth share in ownership of a plot.

Amarjit Singh had earlier approached police but was dissatisfied with the probe. Singh then approached district courts-17. Police said the case was registered following directions from the court. A case under charges of forgery, cheating and criminal conspiracy was registered.
