'Majithia undergoing penance an eyewash'

AMRITSAR: Congress leader from Majitha Sukhjinder Raj Singh Lalli, who is also general secretary of PPCC, has blamed revenue minister Bikram Majithia for eye-wash in the name of undergoing penance at Takhts.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Sukhjinder alleged that utensils and shoes given to Majithia for cleaning and dusting were already cleaned by people accompanying him, including Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) members.
He questioned as to why Majithia took SGPC members Jodh Singh and Surjit Singh Bhatiwind with him though he was supposed to go alone for religious atonement. "It is nothing but an eyewash, he is given cleaned utensils and dusted shoes" he alleged. Meanwhile a close associate of Majithia - Sarchand Singh - denied the allegations.
