LUDHIANA: Ludhiana deputy commissioner held a meeting with LPG distributors and petrol pump dealers to curb malpractices.

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">LUDHIANA: Anurag Verma, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana held a meeting with coordinators of oil companies and distributors of LPG and petrol pump dealers in order to curb the malpractices in distribution of LPG and at petrol pumps. <br /><br />The coordinators of Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner that all their distributors have provided weighing scales to all the delivery men for weighing of LPG cylinders by the customers at the time of receiving supply.

Indian Oil Corporation is also in the process of completing this exercise by 30th April. <br /><br />Besides this for the convenience of the consumers electronic weighing scales are also provided at the show rooms of LPG distributors.<br /><br />Sales Officers also brought to the notice of Verma that they have provided 5 Litres calibrated measure at each petrol pump. In addition, instruments to check the density of any petroleum product have been provided at the outlets.<br /><br />Anurag Verma, Deputy Commissioner appealed to the general public to take maximum advantage of these provisions. Wherever any of the above provisions were found lacking or any malpractice was suspected the consumer should immediately bring the matter to the notice of the Oil Company concerned or District Food & Supplies Controller or Sub Divisional Magistrate concerned. <br /><br />Verma further informed that henceforth such meetings will be held every quarter. He appealed to the consumers to come forward and to participate in such meetings so that their grievances could be redressed in a speedy and effective manner.<br /><br /><formid=367815></formid=367815></div> </div>
