Low-intensity blast at Chandigarh house; cops suspect Pakistan-based gangster's role, NIA roped in
At the time of the blast, retired principal K K Malhotra was sitting in the lawn of the house with his wife and saw two persons coming in an auto and throwing an explosive towards the house.
Police suspected the role of gangster Harwinder Singh Rinda, who is believed to be in Pakistan, behind the incident.
Soon after getting information about the blast, UT DGP Surendra Singh Yadav accompanied by IG RK Singh and SSP Kanwardeep Kaur visited the site.
After the incident, all the entry and exit points of the city were sealed, and a heavy deployment of police was made in the city.
Meanwhile, the UT police have rounded up an auto driver in the case, and further interrogation is underway.
The two suspects were seen coming in an auto-rickshaw, and after throwing the explosive, both fled the spot in the auto.
Later, the bomb disposal squad, dog squads, and CFSL team reached the spot and collected evidence.
Sources said former SP Jaskirat Singh of Punjab Police lived in the house, and cops suspected that the blast was targeted at him. During his tenure as SP, he had nabbed several gangsters. He had been getting threats from them.
Caf blast suspects tried triggering IED blast at BJP office: NIA
The NIA has submitted a chargesheet against four individuals linked to the Rameshwaram Cafe blast in Bengaluru, which injured nine people. Initially targeting the BJP's state headquarters, they failed and then attacked the cafe. The chargesheet contains witness statements and evidence material, with the suspects charged under various legal provisions.
Suspected blast in Chandigarh's Sector 10, one arrested
A small pressure-type blast occurred in Chandigarh's Sector 10, causing damage to windows and flower pots. One suspect has been arrested as police investigate the incident. Forensic teams are collecting evidence, and the complainant reported seeing two individuals allegedly throwing a grenade before fleeing in an auto.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has charged four individuals for their involvement in the Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe blast. The accused, identified as IS radicals, received funding through cryptocurrencies and had previously attempted an IED attack on the BJP office. Nine people were injured in the cafe explosion during lunch hour on March 1.
