CHANDIGARH: UT police are searching for Sector 38-west gurdwara chief Swaroop Singh and his two sons Gurpreet and Gurkirpal. They have issued a lookout notice for him at all international airports and exit points of the country.
This was done as there had been violence at the gurdwara on January 30 when UT officials went there with cops to demolish some illegal constructions.
Sources said Swaroop Singh had met Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee chief Avtar Singh Makkar in Amritsar.
His advocate Ramdeep Pratap Singh said, He has assured babaji of full support. He has sought relevant documents that we have sent to him.
Meanwhile, the UT police arrested two more persons in this case on Wednesday.
They were bus conductor with Santsar School Jatinder Singh and pathi-cum-driver Swaroop Singh. They were sent in two-day police remand.
Politicians came forward in the gurdwara head?s support with BSP leader and former MP Harmohan Dhawan, ex-mayor Harjinder Kaur and some others forming an action committee for the purpose.
