Lawyers on strike over ‘false’ FIR

Hisar: Hisar Bar Association has announced an indefinite strike demanding cancellation of the “false” FIR registered against the association’s library in-charge and an advocate for allegedly hurling “casteist slurs” at complainant and stealing items from the latter’s brother’s canteen in the district court premises.
The association called a general body meeting on Monday and demanded action against the complainant for filing “false” complaint and also sought suspension of police officers.Kumar said he works in a canteen rented by his brother Sandeep in the Hisar court premises.
“Library in-charge Amit Sharma and a lawyer came to the canteen and stole items from there. While I was making a video of the incident, Amit Sharma snatched my mobile phone and hurled casteist slurs and threatened me,” he alleged. tnn
